June was traditionally the most common month for weddings, captured by the phrase "June bride." Now, more and more couples are choosing to host their affair year-round. Whether on a sandy beach or inside a snow-covered church, the event is still one of the most memorable in people's lives and should be celebrated with style. And while advice and how-tos for brides are plentiful, many guests are still left with lingering questions about what gifts to give and wedding day etiquette.
- "Although it is an honor to be included in a couple's special day -- and it's often lots of fun -- there are a few rules wedding guests should keep in mind," says Denise Dinyon, Lenox gift-giving and etiquette expert. Dinyon offers these tips to help guests and ensure a happy day for all.

Wedding gifts are the most fun things to shop for, and definitely the most fun to receive. When you give a wedding gift, especially when you purchase a gift from the registered gifts, you know that it will be something that the happy couple will use. Any of the things that seem off the wall are more than likely the workings of the male counterpart and are probably just chosen for the slight off chance that someone might actually buy it.
We all know however, that it is the superior sex that chooses the things that really matter and the things that the couple actually will need. Women are the instrumental backbone of the relationship, and will most likely register for the more practical gifts. All joking aside, registering for wedding gifts is essential to the to-do list for the wedding. The quicker you get out there and register, the sooner your guests can start planning on what gifts they are going to give. It also gives any out of town guests a chance to get a jump on looking into gifts. If you are looking into wedding gifts to give and the couple either hasn’t registered or hadn’t registered for a lot of things and there isn’t a huge selection, look for things to personalize.
Personalized wedding gifts are always a good idea, as the initials of the couple can be applied to anything. Think about decorative towels, throw pillows, or a set of glasses with the initials of the couple etched on them. Another great personalized wedding gift is silverware – you can do a lot with silver ware and china as far as personalization goes. When it comes to wedding anniversary gifts, the same is true. You can find a list of the traditional wedding gifts by anniversary year to give you a good starting point for your search for the perfect anniversary gift. When I give wedding gifts, I try to make them as unique as possible. A unique wedding gift will be remembered by the couple, whether it is on the list of registered items or not.
