The history of weddings is one that dates back many, many years. Some of the traditions that we take part in have a big story behind them. For example, the best man first came about for protection. He was their to guard the groom and the bride until the wedding was complete. This was because a lot of forced marriages were being ended with swords to the back. Now the best man is mostly their for planning the bachelor party. Another tradition that people take part in nowadays is wedding favors. Just like all other traditions, the wedding favor has a history as well. Today we are going to talk about the history of wedding favors, as well as where you can find cheap and unique wedding favors.
The history of wedding favors starts out pretty simple. Wedding favors use to be little candies that were given out to guests who came to the party. This was a way for the bride and groom to share their new found luck with the guests. After all, it was bad luck to invite people to a party and not wish good luck upon them for coming. The candies were pretty simple and came in different colors. Mostly chocolate with a candy shell, these candies all represented something different. Some candy stood for wisdom, and another stood for money, just to name a couple.
Nowadays, wedding favors are more tradition than to wish people good luck. It is nice to give someone a gift that has come to the most important day of your life. The only problem is that when you invite a lot of people to your wedding, wedding favors can become very expensive. Even if you only spent $5 per wedding favor and you have 100 people coming, that is $500 in itself! Today we are going to talk about ways to buy cheap wedding favors without them looking cheap. There are a number of things that you can buy that get the job done. You just have to find the one that goes perfect with your theme.
The first and best thing that you can give out to people fall in line with the history that we talked about, and that is candy. Not only does this scream tradition, but it also goes with pretty much any theme that you can think of. Also, everyone loves candy! This is a nice little gift that you can get for people that does not cost a lot, but yet it is still fun to receive. Candy gifts like this can be found online. Remember to keep the candy simple, do not get things that are going to melt. After all they have to be sitting there in the reception area, waiting on people to come. Thus, you need to get little candies that have some kind of candy shell on them so they do not melt (and no, do not get M&M's; that's right, we all know what you were thinking!).
If you want to get unique wedding favors, then you need to think away from candies. Things like little cases of bubbles and even little bars of soaps have become very popular. The best way to search for wedding favors is to go online and see what kind of great deals you can find. Now let's talk about searching for wedding favors online.
Searching for your wedding favors online is possibly the best move that you can make. When you search online, you are able to find the best deals on the best sites. That is because you are able to search thousands of sites with just the click of a button. Just remember that when searching the internet that you need to pay attention to shipping costs. This goes double for when you are shipping candy. If the candy can melt in extreme heat, then you need to know this before you ship it. You will be able to find tons of things online, and the best part about searching online is that you are going to find things that you never would have thought of, meaning that you can come up with great ideas just by surfing around the internet for awhile.
